While President of The Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gül and his companion committee officially visit The Republic of Kenya on the dates of 20th - 22nd February 2009 and then The United Republic of Tanzania on the dates of 22nd - 23rd February 2009, The Chairman of TASAM Süleyman Şensoy who accompanied them evaluated his personal impressions about the trip for TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation).
In his comments to TRT, Şensoy said that President of The Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gül and his companion committee were faced great interest and sympathies in both Tanzania and Kenya.
President Gül pointed out that even the African countries observe the importance of Turkey as it increases in the international field. Moreover he said that the contracts which were respectively signed with Tanzania and with Kenya obviously prove this importance.
Şensoy stated that President Gül’s visits to Tanzania and Kenya are very appropriate acts as their timings and contents. By mentioning the activities of TASAM such as African Congresses which are made for 4 years, TASAM African Institute, Turkish - African CSO’s Forum organized by TASAM during the Summit of Heads of African States held in İstanbul, and the books published by TASAM, he expressed his gladness as he witnesses the positive echoes of these activities over Turkey - Africa relations.
